THE ARTIST

Steffen Wagner is a Berlin-based artist whose work begins with a simple belief: words should be lived, not just said.

Trained in industrial design and shaped by years in graphic design, he has been developing his own typographic language since 2021, organic, flowing letterforms that move between liquid chrome and hand-painted surfaces. His pieces carry short, quiet statements like Your Way, Power in Patience or Live Simply, not as slogans but as reminders. Your Way, shown at the London Art Biennale, captures the thread running through all of his work: the courage to walk one’s own path and to stay true to it.

In a time when images can be generated in seconds, Wagner deliberately slows down. He works with paint, material, light and texture, believing that what is made by hand carries something a click cannot. His Essence series reduces objects of the digital age to their core, in a line-based language inspired by early cave painting and the modernists.

His goal is not to be admired, but to make people pause, to spark wonder and open new perspectives. At the heart of every work is one message: stay inspired, and stay true to what you said you would do.

His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the London Art Biennale and at international art fairs in Venice and Rome.
